A recall from his position as Wisconsin's governor could ultimately be the least of Gov. Scott Walker's worries, if a criminal complaint quietly moving forward in the Badger State court system continues on its current trajectory. At the moment, Walker seems to be at the bottom of a mountain where an avalanche is just beginning to roll.
A 51-page criminal complaint [PDF] (the "Rindfleisch complaint"), which formally charges Kelly M. Rindfleisch with four felony counts of misconduct in public office, contains factual allegations which implicate a number of individuals, listed as "interested parties," including WI's controversial Republican Governor, in a wide-reaching criminal conspiracy to misuse public employees and resources for partisan political gain.
The Rindfleish complaint was filed in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Jan. 26, 2012 by Milwaukee County District Attorney John T. Chisholm. It's the product of an ongoing criminal investigation (the "John Doe" investigation) of the Milwaukee County Executive Office during Walker's tenure as County Executive there. The complaint specifically involves the period during which Tim Russell and then Rindfleish served as Walker's Deputy Chiefs of Staff.
The recent news in the Milwaukee County case coincides with a separate set of court rulings in the battle over the attempt by opponents of Walker to see him recalled via the ballot box. In that matter, an appellate court recently reversed Republican Waukesha Circuit Judge J. Mac Davis' decision to deny the Recall proponent's motion to intervene in a case brought by "Friends of Scott Walker" designed to obstruct the scheduling of Walker's Recall. The appellate ruling directed Davis to vacate his controversial decision which had shifted the statutory burden for challenging the validity of the Walker Recall petition signatures from Walker himself --- as had been the process for years --- to the state's Government Accountability Board.
While that appellate ruling may serve to help expedite Walker's potential removal from office via the ballot box, a recall could ultimate prove to be less of a concern to the embattled, right-wing governor than the criminal case steadily moving forward in Milwaukee.
The factual body of the Rindfleisch complaint suggests that prosecutors are painstakingly examining evidence that may well place Walker at the center of a criminal conspiracy to illegally utilize employees within the Milwaukee County Executive Office to engage in fundraising and campaign activities on behalf of the Friends of Scott Walker and others during office hours at the expense of Milwaukee taxpayers.
Each violation of the relevant WI criminal statutes at issue in the matter carries with it a potential imprisonment of up to 3.5 years. As that case moves forward apace, Walker could lose a great deal more than simply his hold on the governor's office. His very freedom may prove to be at stake as well...

I guess its best not to jump to conclusions, but its difficult not to because all of this reflects Walker's arrogance of power. Looks like Walker is going down and going down hard. That will probably be a huge set back for Wisconsin Republicans in general. And if Walker is recalled, it will probably inspire other recall efforts against Republican governors.

Hmmm. It's beginning to look like Tails -- he loses; Heads -- he loses. So sad.
And Wisconsin wins! Looks like there's some hope for a semblance of democratic gov't left in these United States. On, Wisconsin. . .

Indeed, jwtiii -- Wisconsin represents a bright hope for the restoration of government of the people, by the people, and for the people -- and a rousing dismissal of the Koch Brothers from our Congress and state governments.
- 20 votes
The other states are full of these Koch heads, too. They all must go, folks. The Republicans have had one plan for America all along. It is not a democracy, but a funneling of more and more to the top through policy, use the religious right, bigots and any anti-government elements to get votes to keep the corporate puppets in office, destroy workers rights by demolishing the Dems, and build a coalition of theocratic zeolots to control the masses. They sure are spending alot of dough to be a part of the government they despise. Beware to all voters. Even Americans souls can be bought, we are quite pathetic.

Lola - Ohio -- In ancient times they would have called you a prophet. You are spot on. The stakes are high -- and the Kochs and their ilk would have us be too stupid to know it. This is one big reason they want to stop birth control -- get the women back in the kitchen, too burdened to engage politically --and keep working class men desperate to feed their families. All part of their version of god's plan. By the way -- all but fetuses are expendable.

Sad for Walker perhaps. Its really got to suck to be him. The lesson here is don't tease Karma, one day when you least expect it, she'll have her pound of flesh from your backside. Looks like that day is coming soon for one Governor in particular.
As for the wonderful citizens of Wisconsin, this has got to be one heck of a rib tickler.
: )
Now if only Karma would come get the Koch brothers sooner rather than later.

I guess its best not to jump to conclusions
Given that Walker has in the past:
1. Promised openly to a reporter pretending to be a Koch brother that he would do their every bidding in office, including putting agents provocateur amongst the people protesting him
2. Lied and mislead voters about his agenda before being elected
3. Deliberately suppressed the vote
4. Illegally made public decisions behind closed doors in violation of the Open Meetings law
5. Stolen federal funds meant for foreclosed homeowners in order to close a budget hole he denies exists
. . . I'd say this is not jumping to a conclusion, but simply inferring from already-made observations that the man is a lawless political hack who will do or say anything to get his way.

Walker's already done much damage to Wisconsin. Hard to imagine how much in public utilities and land grabs given over just in the short time in office. These guys only care about money and embellishing their own wallets. They shill themselves as fiscal conservatives, NOT, they just give money to the top and cut stuff for the masses, education, health care, etc. The GOP could not give a damn what anybody thinks, they will have all the toys when the game is over, and that is all that matters as far as power.

You're right...I shouldn't condemn all liberals because of the comments of one. I apologize if I've offended anyone.
However, I do find it interesting that there are so many people on here wishing not just ill, but bodily harm upon the governor. And immediately following my condemnation of Jerry's post, Lola seems to defend it.

In like of the damage done to the people and the process, justice would require more than a pound and a half of flesh. And we all know that ain't happening.
Besides, this chinless wonder threatened to call in the National Guards BEFORE there were really any protests. A safe falling on him from out of the sky wouldn't be justice enough.
He needs to just shut up and act like the Koch whore everyone knows he is.

Fed-Up -- Thank you. Many people are very angry with Gov. Walker -- however, I don't see "many" people on this post wishing Walker bodily harm-- one does say "fry him" but I would argue that's a common expression meaning to prosecute Walker to the full extent of the law.

I think they are referring to hoping he serves a prison sentence. They are using phraseology connecting prison to its harsh realities, thus creating images -- a standard literary device, used by poets, novelists and other creative writers. They are not actually, literally wishing him bodily harm -- just hoping he serves his time in prison -- with no special treatment by the system. By the way, isn't being "tough on crime" a republican fundamental? Have you ever previously objected to the way inmates are treated -- or only in the context of Walker being an inmate?

Saul Alinsky is smiling from hell tonight. His tactics and playbook are alive and wellin Wisconsin. It will turn out that these charges are false but they will take Walker's time and the government press and progressive blogs will keep making uo lies. Like Alinsky said, any means are justified as long as it achieves your end. Walker balanced the Wisconsin budget and people call him a blood sucker while the union members are crying that they may actually have to cough up a little for their retirement. These union members should get along great in Greece. Paying these instructors for falling grades and a progressive rewrite education. They should pay for my retirement, e month vacation and a guaranteed job despite my performance, taking sick days to create a public nuisance, public trespassing, littering, indecent exposure

You know nothing about him, yet, with one mention from Rush, you buy into him as another boogy man whose name you can repeat to others who know nothing about him or his book, yet you are all willing to vilify him....without knowing a thing about what you are talking about!
This is what is called propaganda, and you are it's victim. So, are those you spread the propaganda to. Truth is what matters, not lies. knowledge is power, not misinformation. Please, stop allowing them to feed you full of lies, and start questioning what they tell you....verify, then judge. if you believe everything they tell you, you believe what they want you to believe, and the opinions you think are yours, are not yours at all.

Walker balanced the Wisconsin budget and people call him a blood sucker while the union members are crying that they may actually have to cough up a little for their retirement.
If Walker balanced the budget as he claimed (and lied about), then why is he using money given to the state, that's designed to go to struggling middle class workers to help with their mortgages that were eschewed by the corporatists, to balance the budget?
And as for retirement, Walker gets his for free for being a governor. Why doesn't he have to cough up a little, but some guy cleaning up dog poo on a public trail has to?

How much does Walker put forward to his retirement for being governor? Nothing. How much does Walker pay towards his health insurance for being governor? Nothing. Yup, when Walker, who gets tons of freebies for destroying this state to help his rich buddies, destroys the lives of other workers, including teachers, our state does go into chaos. And now we're going to get rid of him and get our state back. And we need to make sure he gets nothing towards his retirement and will have to pay all his own, and his family's, medical bills.

Fedupwithliberals at #9.4 -- Reporting the facts about Scott Walker or other republicans is not "bashing" them -- calling the President of the USA a facist is bashing. Bashing is gratuitios (no basis in fact). Here's the Wikipedia definition:
Bashing is a harsh, gratuitous, prejudicial attack on a person, group or subject. Literally, bashing is a term meaning to hit or assault, but when it is used as a suffix, or in conjunction with a noun indicating the subject being attacked, it is normally used to imply that the act is motivated by bigotry.[citation needed] The term is also used metaphorically, to describe verbal or critical assaults. Topics which attract bashing tend to be highly partisan and personally sensitive topics for the bashers, the victims or both. Common areas include religion, nationality, sexuality and politics.
Physical bashing is differentiated from regular assault because it is a motivated assault, which may be considered a hate crime. In relation to non-physical bashing, the term is used to imply that a verbal or critical attack is similarly unacceptable and similarly prejudicial. Use of the term in this manner is an abusive ad hominem action, used to denounce the attack and admonish the attackers by comparing them to perpetrators of physical bashing.
Karen Franklin, in her paper "Psychosocial motivations of hate crimes perpetrators" identifies the following motivations for bashing: socially instilled prejudice or partisan conflict; the perception that the bashing subject is in some way contrary to, or in offense to, an underlying ideology; group or peer influence.[citation needed]
The fact is that Walker's staff is under investigation-- and there is reason to believe that Walker is too. If you have a job, you know that the boss is responsible for the behavior of the group.

No, but suggesting that you hope Walker gets raped by his prison inmate isn't exactly what I call "debating the issues", either.
BTW, what "facts" do you have in evidence that prove Walker himself is guilty of anything? If you have anything legit, by all means, hand it over to the prosecutors. If not, it's nothing but conjecture on your part (would you like me to post three paragraphs' worth of definitions for that?)

Wow. You pro-Walker trolls have balls. Great big hairy balls to brag about him balancing the budget and doing right by the fine folks of Wisconsin when he is doing it by stealing from the mortgage relief settlement, screwing the people underwater on their homes who were getting desperately needed help. Tax cuts cause deficits. Deficits that are not supposed to be paid off by stealing from the all the other tax payers of the US.
This is fraud and this is theft. And if you voted for this bastard, you ought to have the cell next to him. And if you are cheerleading for him, then you might want to start keeping that to yourself. He makes Nixon look like a slacker with no ambition.

Nope not true. He is doing this but just like governors across the country that used stimulus money to do the same. Like it or not Governors decide on the money in each state. If the unions allowed people to pick which candidate or where their union dues are used id be behind them more.

The money for mortgage relief was not stimulus money. It was money for mortgage relief. That money was STOLEN.
And stimulus money used to plug holes in your budget blasted there by tax cuts is not fiscal prudence. It is paying off your friends with money stolen from the tax-payers of America.
I thought Republicans hated the idea of money going to the states from DC. You all are more excited about tax payer money than any welfare queen. Otherwise no-one would have to ask just how disasterous Republican tax policy is.

david at 17.1-- Unions are not government -- the analogy is extremely poor. It's like comparing a country club (a voluntary membership organization) with the state. And by the way, it's government's role to prevent fraud both in unions and in corporations. But republicans oppose government intervention, right? Walker cannot do anything "He" wants -- he's an elected official -- and as such, part of his role is doing right by his constituents. This includes listening to them --not blind obedience -- but listening. But -- he is tone deaf to his constituents -- hence the recall. It seems to me that republican governors across the USA have proven themselves to be despots. They win. They rule. Not how it's supposed to work in a Democracy. The voice of the people does not discontinue following an election --
